THE PROJECT
My Family Things is the most personal project to date by Italian trombonist and composer Andrea Andreoli.
Written over a decade shaped by music, touring and family life, the project transforms people, relationships and emotions into music. Each original composition is connected to someone close to Andreoli or to a particular moment in his life, creating a musical portrait that moves between joy, anxiety, tenderness, energy and reflection.
At the centre of the quartet's sound is melody. Andreoli's trombone takes on an almost vocal role, surrounded by a rhythm section that moves naturally between contemporary European jazz, swing, blues, groove and open improvisation.
The result is music that is personal without becoming private, sophisticated without losing immediacy — a contemporary Italian jazz quartet with a strong narrative identity and a sound built for the stage.

Italian jazz trombonist, composer and educator active on the international jazz scene.
Andreoli has performed and recorded with artists and ensembles including Billy Cobham, WDR Big Band, Fred Hersch, Maria Schneider, Vince Mendoza, Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu, Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker and Marshall Gilkes .
His recordings with the WDR Big Band include Fred Hersch's Begin Again, nominated for a Grammy Award.
Since 2024, Andreoli has toured internationally with Billy Cobham, performing at major venues and festivals including the Montreux Jazz Festival 2026.
Andreoli previously held the Lead Trombone chair with Sweden's Norrbotten Big Band and is currently Professor of Jazz Trombone at the Conservatorio “G. Verdi” in Milan.
With My Family Things, Andreoli brings this international experience into his own music — a project centred on composition, interaction, melody and the expressive possibilities of the trombone.
