ABOUT ME.

   

Andrea Andreoli is a jazz trombonist and educator active on the international music scene.
His work ranges from contemporary jazz and big band projects to recording and television productions, alongside an intense concert activity.
He currently collaborates with Billy Cobham and Malika Ayane, and teaches Jazz Trombone at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan.

Andrea Andreoli graduated in Trombone from the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Como, where he studied under Pierluigi Salvi and Fulvio Clementi. Alongside his classical studies, he further developed his skills in jazz and improvisation at the CDPM in Bergamo with Sergio Orlandi.

He later earned a Master’s Degree (Second Level Academic Diploma) in Jazz Trombone at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan, studying under Giovanni Falzone.

He has attended numerous advanced masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians, including Joseph Alessi, Charlie Vernon, Michel Becquet, and Daniele Morandini, while further deepening his jazz language with Rudy Migliardi, Marshall Gilkes, Elliot Mason, and Vincent Gardner.

He won the audition as lead trombone with the Norrbotten Big Band (Sweden) and has collaborated with numerous internationally acclaimed ensembles and artists, including WDR Big Band, Maria Schneider, Vince Mendoza, Fred Hersch, Marshall Gilkes, Elliot Mason, Ennio Morricone, Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, Fabrizio Bosso, Enrico Rava, as well as leading Italian and European jazz orchestras.

He performs regularly at major national and international jazz festivals, including London Jazz Festival, Torino Jazz Festival, Bergamo Jazz, Trento Jazz Festival, Vicenza Jazz, Malta Jazz Festival.

He has an extensive list of recording collaborations with prominent artists such as Fred Hersch, Vince Mendoza, Bob Mintzer, Bill Laurence, Mina, Malika Ayane, Mario Biondi. In 2020, he received a Grammy Awards nomination for the album Begin Again by Fred Hersch and the WDR Big Band.

In the television field, he has taken part in major productions and programs, collaborating with orchestras, recording studios, and broadcast productions.

In the pop music scene, he collaborates with Malika Ayane and Mario Biondi, performing in prestigious venues in Italy and abroad. In 2024, he took part in Billy Cobham’s European tour with the projects Spectrum 50 and Time Machine.

He is the recipient of the Gorni Kramer Award (2019) and has been awarded the title of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.

He currently teaches Jazz Trombone at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan.
